Abduction suspect waives extradition
DOYLESTOWN, Pa. (AP) — Police say they expect murder charges to be filed in last month’s disappearance of a suburban Philadelphia woman whose blood-spattered car was found in New Jersey.
Forty-eight-year-old Kenneth Patterson waived extradition from New Jersey on Tuesday and will return to Pennsylvania to face kidnapping and assault charges in the disappearance of 57-year-old Diane Corado.
Patterson was arrested at a Maple Shade, N.J., hotel on December 19 after he allegedly burst into Corado’s apartment in Fairless Hills and forced her into her SUV. The car was later found in Camden, N.J., with blood inside.
Falls Township Police Lt. Henry Ward says Patterson has not cooperated with investigators. Ward tells The Philadelphia Inquirer that murder charges are likely but prosecutors haven’t commented on the investigation.
