Public memorial set for Arizona shooting victims
TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) — A bishop in Arizona had a public memorial later tonight for those killed in the shooting spree and prayed for those still hospitalized, including Rep. Gabrielle Giffords.
Tucson Bishop Gerald Kicanas was to preside over the first official tribute to the victims of the attack. Six people were killed and 14 others injured at the congresswoman's event outside a grocery store.
The Mass was scheduled at St. Odilia Catholic Church. Among those killed was 9-year-old Christina Taylor Green, who was baptized at the church.
Jared Loughner is accused of being the lone gunman in the attempted assassination of Giffords. She is in critical condition.
