Mahoning Valley could get up to a foot of snow


YOUNGSTOWN — The Mahoning Valley could see as much as a foot of snow in some areas by Wednesday evening.

Parts of the area were expected to get up to 7 inches of snow today, and another 2 to 5 Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service forecast.

Snow started falling this afternoon.

With the heavy snow comes the obligatory parking bans. There is a parking ban is in effect in Austintown until 3 p.m. Wednesday. Boardman’s ban continues until 6 p.m. Friday. All vehicles are to be removed from roadways so road departments can clear the streets of snow.
