Death of woman in Hamburg home a homicide
HAMBURG, Pa. (AP) — A coroner says a woman found dead in a Hamburg home after a domestic dispute was killed by a single gunshot wound.
Berks County Deputy Coroner Ron Peters said Sunday night that the death of 62-year-old Joan Marie Wagner was ruled a homicide. He says the bullet struck her right arm and abdomen.
The Reading Eagle reports that a policeman investigating a dispute at the home Saturday night called dispatchers for help and said someone was shooting at him from inside the home. He said he was pinned down and could not reach his gun.
The gunman was killed. No officers were injured.
Peters says an autopsy on the man will be conducted this afternoon.
