Porters mark anniversary at family dinner

Mr. and Mrs. Larry Porter of the Village Court celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Dec. 19 during a family dinner at the Holiday Inn in Boardman.

Hosts for the event were their daughters, Brenda Porter of Austintown and Lori (Joe) Blinsky of Boadman. The Porters have two grandsons, Joe and Kevin Blinsky.

The former Maralyn Bell and Mr. Porter were united in marriage Dec. 23, 1960, at Grace Church. They are members of East Fairfield Methodist Church.

Mrs. Porter retired as a teacher from Crestview Elementary School in 1996 after 30 years of service. She is a member of the Retired Teachers of Columbiana County, the Ohio Education Association, the National Education Association and Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority.

Mr. Porter served with the Marine Corps Reserve from 1957 to 1963, and he was a crane operator with Diamond Steel in Boardman for 35 years prior to retiring in 1996. He belonged to Operating Engineers Local 66 and is a member of the Local 66 Operator’s Retiree Club and Argus Lodge 545 in Canfield.
