H&R Block in has promoted Terry Barnhart, to Office Leader at its office at 2710 Market Street in Youngstown, and Dave Wolfe to Office Leader at its office at 546 West Liberty St. in Hubbard.

Barnhart has been with H&R Block for five years as a tax associate and Branch Manager. Wolfe has been a tax associate with H&R Block for five years. In their new roles, both Barnhart and Wolfe are responsible for managing their tax offices, supervising their staffs, meeting with tax clients, and communicating all information that is released concerning the preparation of tax returns and tax planning.

LAW

The Board of Directors of the law firm of Roth, Blair, Roberts, Strasfeld & Lodge has voted to make Attorney Robert J. Herberger a partner in the firm. Herberger joined the firm in 2008 after 20 years with the firm of McLaughlin McNally. He concentrates in intellectual property matters and litigation dealing with patents, copyrights, trademarks and trade secrets.

Herberger graduated with honors in 1982 from Youngstown State University with his bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering. He received his juris doctor degree with honors in 1989 from The University of Akron Law School. Before attending law school, he worked as a chemical engineer at Texas Instruments, Inc., in Austin, Texas and Electrochemicals Inc., in Youngstown.

MEDICAL

Dr. Richard Hertle has joined Akron Children’s Hospital as director of the department of Pediatric Ophthalmology. Dr. Hertle is leading the effort to create a pediatric vision center that treats children with visual problems ranging from minor to serious conditions requiring surgery. Before joining Akron Children’s, Dr. Hertle was director of pediatric ophthalmology at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh.

Dr. Hertle has been a principal investigator on several research projects funded by the National Institute of Health.

Jonathan W. Roscow has been promoted to president and chief operating officer of Tubetech North America, East Palestine’s largest employer. Tubetech produces and markets quality electric welded steel tubing primarily for automobiles and appliances within the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Roscow most recently served as vice president of sales but his varied management experience includes quality, personnel and manufacturing.

A graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Roscow also completed an executive MBA course at the Katz School of business at the University of Pittsburgh.
