Ohio Sen. Joseph Schiavoni and State Rep. Ronald Gerberry will attend Austintown’s school board meeting Monday to congratulate the district on their first “Excellent” rating.
“I think Austintown is very proud of their distinction, and they should be,” Schiavoni said adding that he tries to attend school events when a district does something positive.
Gerberry is an Austintown native and still lives in the district. He graduated from Fitch High School as did his wife and children.
“On a personal level, I’m really, truly excited Austintown receiving an ‘Excellent’ rating from the state,” he said.
Superintendent Vince Colaluca said he’s proud to welcome the politicians to the district.
“We’re continuing the celebration for that accomplishment,” he said.
The school board meeting will take place at 5:45 p.m. in the Austintown Middle School cafeteria.
