A man who thought he was going to buy a game system was instead robbed at gunpoint in the Denny’s parking lot on East State Street, police reported. The robbery happened around 2 p.m. Thursday, police said.
Police said the victim got into a car with two other men and showed them $325 he had to buy the system from them. One of the men climbed into the backseat and pulled a gun, police said. Police continue their investigation.
Support group formed

A new support group for unemployed and underemployed people is being formed and will meet at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Ursuline Center, 4280 Shields Road.

Dinner to honor Billak

Youngstown CityScape will honor Rick Billak at a Thursday dinner at the Youngstown Club, 201 E. Commerce St., that starts at 5:30 p.m.
Billak, chief executive officer of Community Correction Association, has been a CityScape member since 2005. The CCA has worked for years on beautifying the Market Street area.
CityScape is a nonprofit organization that concentrates on beautifying and preserving the city’s downtown and gateways.
