Competitions open to all skaters
YOUNGSTOWN
Skating Club of Greater Youngstown will host an annual skating competition from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Jan. 15 and 16 at the Covelli Centre on Front Street.
Endorsed by the Ice Skating Institute, the event will attract more than 130 skaters from teams and clubs in Ohio and Pennsylvania.
The competition is open to all skaters of all ages and will include tots, pre-alpha-delta, stroking, artistic, interpretive, footwork, freestyle 1-9, solo compulsories, team compulsories, dance, free dance, spotlights, ensemble, family spotlights, synchronized production and hockey events.

Annual baby shower scheduled at centre
YOUNGSTOWN
Associated Neighborhood Centers will host its fifth annual baby shower at 3 p.m. Jan. 17 at McGuffey Centre, 1649 Jacobs Road.
Youngstown area expectant mothers and parents with children 5 and under are invited. Refreshments will be served, and there will be prizes for babies and children under 5.
Pediatrician Khalid Iqbal and obstetrician/gynecologist Rodney Hill will be available to answer questions.

Easter Seals plans wine tasting event

Limited seating is available for the “Flavor of the Wine” wine-tasting event to be sponsored by Easter Seals from 4 to 6 p.m. Jan. 29 at Vintage Estate Wine and Beer, 7317 South Ave.
Phil Reda, owner and operator of the venue, will discuss various types of wines and help patrons make suitable selections.
