Warren boy hit by car

WARREN

A boy was hit by a car and injured just before 3 p.m. Friday at the corner of Tod Avenue and Fifth Street Southwest. He was taken to Trumbull Memorial Hospital.

A witness who saw the accident followed the driver of the car that hit the boy and helped police arrest her a short time later in Lordstown.

Nicole Dowell, 22, of Warren, was cited for a red light violation and failure to stop after an accident.

A police spokesman said he did not have the name or age of the boy or know his condition. The accident occurred around the time school let out at the nearby Jefferson K-8 building, but the spokesman said he didn’t know if the boy had come from the building.
