Police:Suspect led police across frozen lake

LONG POND, Pa. (AP) — A burglary and car theft suspect allegedly set fire to a home before leading police on a foot chase over a frozen lake.

Pocono Mountain Regional Police are trying to determine if 30-year-old Jacob Thompson was burglarizing or squatting at the home in the private Emerald Lakes community when the fire broke out Thursday afternoon.

Investigators tell the Pocono Record a neighbor then spotted a suspicious man hiding in the woods. Police say officers pursued Thompson across the frozen West Emerald Lake, arresting him about a quarter-mile from the scene of the fire.

Authorities say Thompson faces charges including car theft and burglary.
