Police: Couple starved tot who used feeding tube
POINT MARION, Pa. (AP) — A toddler is dead and her parents face homicide charges after an autopsy found the girl was starved to death.
Investigators say 15-month-old Madison Violet Dodson died of starvation and dehydration Thursday in Point Marion, a Fayette County town just north of the West Virginia border. Police say the girl had medical problems that required her to have a feeding tube.
Fifty-five-year-old Robert David Dodson and 35-year-old Tammy Jo Bohon are being held at a county prison facing criminal homicide and child welfare charges. The seven other children that were in the home are in custody of children and youth services.
State police Trooper Timothy Kirsch says the home where the girl died was filthy and trash-strewn, with human and animal feces throughout the house.
