GIRARD

Hailey Benders, 6-year-old daughter of Sascha and Michelle Benders of Girard, was awarded the title of “Little Miss American Rose Ohio State Queen” during a state pageant on Nov. 20.

Hailey, a student at Prospect Elementary School, is a member of the Girl Scouts and enjoys dancing.

She will represent Girard and Ohio during a national pageant Jan. 17 in Poulsbo, Wash., where she will be judged on beauty, scholarship, and her answer to an essay question.
