Two companies blamed in a state watchdog’s report for costing Ohio millions in road-salt overpayments challenge the findings and say they are not supported by facts.

Chicago-based Morton Salt Co. and Minneapolis-based Cargill also say they cooperated with the state inspector general, who issued the report Thursday.

The report says Ohio lost tens of millions of dollars due to anti-competitive practices by the two companies.
