ASSOCIATIONS
Mill Creek Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Blue Wolf Banquet Center in Boardman. The cost of the dinner is $17. Northeast Homeowners and Concerned Citizens Association will have a monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Price memorial A.M.E. Zion Church, 920 Dryden Ave., Youngstown. Guest speaker will be Dr, Connie Hathorn, superintendent of Youngstown City Schools. He will share information regarding changes and upcoming events that will take place under his leadership. Yo-Mah-OH Chapter of the International Association of Administrative Professionals will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Beard Cabin in Boardman Park. The meeting will begin with dinner, followed by a presentation titled “Fitness for the New Year” by Carrie Clyde, wellness coordinator at Youngstown State University. The Retreads Motorcycle Club is announcing that the first meeting of the newly formed Retreads in Ohio will take place Saturday at Yankee Kitchen, 663 Market St., Boardman. Plans are to have meetings on the second Saturday of each month. All bikers and co-riders are invited to the 1 p.m. lunch and meeting and will have the opportunity to ask questions about the organization. Yearly dues are $15 per person or $20 a couple. Western Reserve Knitting Guild will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Fair Park in Canfield. For the program, members will learn circular-loom knitting and make hats. Looms will be supplied for approximately $5, and members must supply the yarn.
Youngstown Area Weavers Guild will meet at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Colonial Inn on Canfield Fairgrounds. The theme will be “Assembly Ideas for a Friendship Coverlet.” Members are to take a coverlet from 1990, friendship coverlets, photos, directions or other information that will aid in the assembling project. Kinsman Historical Society will meet 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the parlor of Kinsman Presbyterian Church on Church Street. Joyce Morford Keir will speak about her family history and present stories of Kinsman passed on to her by her father John Morford.
Mercer County Historical Society Civil War Roundtable will meet at 6:30 p.m. for a program on the manhunt for John Wilkes Booth to be presented by Jim Carnes. He also will discuss his ancestors and their roles in the American Civil War. The roundtable meets on the second Tuesday of each month from September through May at 119 S. Pitt St., Mercer. First Ohio Chapter of the Federation of Families for Children’s Mental Health will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the D&E Clinic, 142 Javit Court, Austintown. Dr. Joseph M. Grief Recovery Instructional Support Groups will begin a new series of meetings at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home Care Center, near the funeral home at 709 N. Main St., Hubbard. The recovery groups are led by Philip Roland, MA PP C, and are open to anyone who has suffered the loss of a loved one. Roland has been the grief counselor for the funeral home since 1991. He is a trained pastoral counselor and has a master’s degree in counseling. Meetings will be at 7 p.m. on Tuesdays throughout the winter months.
