Trumbull Tourism Board elects trustees

Three new trustees were elected during the Trumbull County Tourism Bureau’s semiannual membership meeting at the Cortland Wine Cellar in Cortland.
About 60 members attended.
Elected to three-year terms were Dr. Gary Hyde, who will replace outgoing at-large trustee Jerry Usselman of the Trumbull County Federation of Sportsmen’s Clubs.
Hyde is retired and is a member of Anglers Anonymous.
Jim Economos will take over the restaurant/entertainment/attraction slot from John Palasics, owner of The Lake Tavern in Mecca, and Scott Kifer will replace Kim Zarick of America’s Best Value Inn for the hotel/motel seat.
Economos, who was re-elected to the tourism board, is owner of the Saratoga Restaurant in Warren. Kifer is sales director for Quality Inn & Suites in Liberty.
In addition to the election of trustees, the first Presidential Award was given. This year’s recipient was David H. Hamilton, a retiree from Warren Concrete and member of the Trumbull 100 civic organization. He was honored for his years of service in business, sports and mentoring of many business men and women in Trumbull County.
The new trustees will be installed at a reorganizational meeting Jan. 13.
