Soulville Thursdays at MetroPlex Hotel

Staff report

LIBERTY

Julius Veal, a Youngstown-based acoustic musician and artist, will launch Soulville Thursdays beginning Jan. 13 at the MetroPlex Hotel, 1620 Belmont Ave.

Soulville Thursdays will be a weekly fusion of art, with brief poetry and literary readings, enhanced by music: classic smooth soul, R&B, blues, jazz and reggae. Its goal is to build a collective of arts exhibitors.

Admission to the inaugural event will be $5, which will include a sampler’s pass at a buffet table catered by a culinary artist.

The event will run from 6 to 10 p.m., and Veal will perform at the event. Future Soulville Thursdays will feature guest performers.

Veal, whose music career has taken him abroad where he played at resorts, performs regularly at local restaurants, including a noon session every Friday at The Lemon Grove, 122 W. Federal St., Youngstown.
