YOUNGSTOWN
Sesame Street Live’s “Elmo’s Green Thumb” will come to Powers Auditorium, 260 W. Federal St., for three shows: 7 p.m. Feb. 8, and 10:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. Feb. 9. Tickets are $12, $16, $20, $25 and $45 and go on sale at 10 a.m. Monday at Ticketmaster.com or by calling 800-745-3000.
A limited number of $25 Gold Circle seats and $45 Sunny Seats also are available (additional fees and discounts may apply). Sunny Seats are in the front row and include a pre-show meet-and-greet with two Sesame Street Live friends.
“Elmo’s Green Thumb” revolves around Elmo and Sunny, the sunflower that he raised from a seed. Sunny has outgrown his flower pot, and Elmo and his friends find Big Bird’s garden the ideal place for Sunny to flourish. Abby Cadabby, Sesame Street’s fairy-in-training, casts a spell to make Sunny grow quickly, but the spell does just the opposite, shrinking Elmo and his friends. While Abby tries to reverse the spell, Elmo, Zoe, Telly and friends explore Big Bird’s garden from a smaller perspective and learn some big lessons about patience, overcoming their fears and appreciating the role that each creature plays in the world’s ecosystem.
