Zou gets most of it instruments back

YOUNGSTOWN

A local band was relieved to get its equipment back Tuesday, less than a week after it was stolen.

Khaled Tabbara of Youngstown rock band The Zou said “about 80 percent” of the band’s stolen equipment was recovered at a house on Holland Avenue.

Youngstown police had not filed a formal report as of Tuesday night, and it is unclear if any arrests have been made in the theft or possible re-sale of the stolen items.

More than 100 items, including guitars, drums, keyboards, amplifiers and hardware, were stolen Thursday morning from an extended-size van parked in the driveway of band member Murad Shorrab’s Ford Avenue apartment.

Tabbara credited an outpouring of support from friends, family and friends — many of whom took to social media websites to share tips and offer encouragement.
