Supervisors elect Pezzuolo chairman

HILLSVILLE, Pa.

Longtime Supervisor Gary Pezzuolo was elected chairman and Supervisor Vito Yeropoli, vice chairman, when Mahoning Township supervisors reorganized Monday.

Wages were set for township employees. Pezzuolo said that the road workers received a 3 percent cost-of-living increase, as stipulated by their contract but that other employees did not receive increases.

Supervisors reappointed Elaine Kielar as secretary at $1,100 monthly and also as zoning office at $265 per month.

Gilbert Lucarelli was reappointed treasurer at $1,320 per month.

James Morris was reappointed police chief at $21.63 hourly and code-enforcement officer at $10 hourly plus mileage.

The wage for full-time patrolmen was set at $14.42 hourly and $12.36 for part-timers.

Supervisor Mark Sackin was reappointed roadmaster, and Supervisors Pezzuolo and Yeropoli as assistant roadmasters with wages to be set by township auditors.

Road workers’ wages were set at $15.24 hourly according to the union contract.

Atty. Louis Perrotta was reappointed township solicitor at $120 per hour, and Atty. Thomas Leslie was reappointed solicitor for the planning commission at the same hourly rate.

Shadda Krall was reappointed park-and-recreation director at $52 per day. Wages were set at $7.75 per hour for lifeguards and $7.35 for pool clerks.

All three supervisors will serve as community- center directors at no wage.

Bill Changoway, Max Rosek and Henry Pezzuolo were reappointed to the zoning hearing board, and alternates are Rich Perrott and Rich Patton.

Sherry Perrott was named zoning-hearing- board secretary at $100 per meeting.

Dave Rogers was appointed to the planning commission to replace Don Docherty, who resigned. Planning commission members will be paid $25 per meeting, and the secretary, $50.

First Commonwealth was named depository for checking, and PLGIT, a financial organization serving Pennsylvania municipalities, was chosen as depository for savings.
