Gas prices increase nearly 4 cents in Northeast Ohio
Gas prices in Northeast Ohio increased 3.8 cents this week. The average price for a gallon of self-serve, regular unleaded gasoline is currently $3.124 at the pump.
According to AAA’s Fuel Gauge, crude oil prices were up 17 cents Monday, settling at a multiyear high of $91.55 at the close of formal trading on the NYMEX.
This marks the first time crude has topped $90 to begin a year since 2008. Oil pricing trends have escalated over the past 12 months as the world economy showed signs of picking up and the U.S. dollar showed continued weakness in comparison to other currencies.
