Ryan will help escort Boehner for swearing in

U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan of Niles, D-17th, has accepted Speaker-elect John Boehner’s invitation to join his escort committee for the official swearing-in ceremony Wednesday.

“In this economic climate, Democrats and Republicans must come together to create an atmosphere that will encourage economic prosperity, create jobs, and restore faith in the American dream. I am committed to making that a reality,” Ryan said in a statement.

Boehner will become the first Speaker from Ohio since Nicholas Longworth, 85 years ago.
