NHL ROUNDUP: Monday’s games
Panthers 4, Hurricanes 3
RALEIGH, N.C.
Bryan Allen scored 1:16 into overtime to lift the Panthers. Allen took a quick slap shot from the boards that surprised Carolina goalie Cam Ward on the glove side. Cory Stillman, Chris Higgins and Dennis Wideman also scored for Florida, which squandered a two-goal lead in the third period before steadying itself for the win. Scott Clemmensen made 34 saves for the Panthers, who improved to 5-1-2 in their last eight games.
Bruins 2, Maple Leafs 1
TORONTO
Marc Savard scored the tiebreaking goal and Tuukka Rask stopped 36 shots to help Boston complete a five game trip at 3-0-2. Nathan Horton also scored for the Bruins. Mikhail Grabovski had the Maple Leafs’ goal and James Reimer — making his second straight start for Toronto — had 31 saves.
