NBA ROUNDUP | Monday night’s games

Celtics 96, Timberwolves 93

BOSTON

Paul Pierce scored 23 points Monday night to help the Celtics overcome a double-digit deficit — and another double-digit rebounding performance by Kevin Love. Love had 24 rebounds and 12 points, but he airballed a jumper with just over a minute left after Rajon Rondo hit a scoop shot to give Boston a one-point lead with just over a minute left. Michael Beasley scored 19, including Minnesota’s last eight points, but his desperation 3-pointer bounced harmlessly off the backboard as time expired.

Magic 110, Warriors 90

ORLANDO, FLA.

Hedo Turkoglu had 10 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists and Dwight Howard added 22 points and 17 rebounds, leading the Magic. Jason Richardson scored 20 points for the Magic, who had 76 points in the second half after trailing 53-44 at halftime.

Hornets 84, 76ers 77

NEW ORLEANS

David West scored 17 points and the Hornets held on for their third straight victory. Chris Paul scored 15 points, using a speedy left-to-right dribble on a clutch driving layup off the glass with just under 20 seconds left to give the Hornets an 82-77 lead. Emeka Okafor had 13 point for New Orleans.

Heat 96, Bobcats 82

CHARLOTTE, N.C.

LeBron James scored 38 points, Dwyane Wade added 31 points and the Heat dominated the second half for their 11th straight road win. Wade grabbed 11 boards in Miami’s 18th win in 19 games.
