Warren

A 22-year-old Youngstown man drove his car into a Deerfield Avenue home after he was shot in the shoulder and chest Tuesday afternoon.

Police said they think Edward Hines III was shot just after 4:30 p.m. Tuesday in the area of Colt Court and Sixth Street, and that he lost consciousness and drove into the house at 1630 Deerfield Avenue, nearly hitting the back wall of the structure.

No one was in the home at the time, police said.

Hines was taken by helicopter to Cleveland Metro Hospital.

Warren city police have no suspects. The case will be transferred to Warren Township police this morning, because that is where the shooting is believed to have taken place, officers said.
