Man arrives for theft trial, arrested by feds

WASHINGTON, Pa. (AP) — A western Pennsylvania man who allegedly masterminded a plot to swindle a casino out of nearly $430,000 using a software glitch is now in federal custody.

Thirty-nine-year-old Andre Nestor was arrested by federal agents Monday after he arrived at the Washington County Courthouse for jury selection on theft and related charges.

WTAE-TV reports that Nestor said he was “being arrested federally for winning on a slot machine.” Nestor told the station its not his fault the machine’s programming let a player win at will.

Nestor and two other men allegedly caused a high-bet slot machine at the Meadows Racetrack & Casino to generate false jackpots in 2009. Nestor’s co-defendants have both pleaded guilty.
