Hometown Urgent Care, a Dayton-based health-care provider, will open its 17th location in Ohio on Thursday.
The urgent-care center is at 1305 Boardman-Poland Road, near the Interstate 680 ramp on U.S. Route 224. Hometown Urgent Care and WorkCare Centers provide services for urgent care, occupational health, wellness and clinical research, and include on-site X-rays, labs and prescription facilities, according to a news release.
Hometown Urgent Care will treat minor illness, such as the flu, colds, minor fractures and burns, the release stated.
The facility is using 5,000 square feet, about half the size of the former Poland Countryside Furniture, which used to occupy that space, said James Grantz, broker associate at Edward J. Lewis Inc., which leases the space in the plaza.
“They saw a market here,” Grantz said.
Hometown Urgent Care has added 10 centers in the last 12 months, and three more centers are in the planning stages for the first quarter of 2011.
“We have plans for 2011 to be in many more markets in Ohio and the midwest,” said Manoj Kumar, founder and chief executive of the company, in a release.
