Fitch, Canfield win bowling tournament

Tyler Frklich of Canfield and Tiffany Terlecki of Boardman were individual winners of the Holiday High School Bowling Tournament at Camelot Lanes on Dec. 30.
Frklich had a 667 series to edge David Webb of North Olmsted, who scored 661. Mike Long of Crestwood was third (657), while Brian Skelton of Austintown Fitch (654) and Chris Lyons of Crestwood (650) rounded out the top five.
Fitch won the championship, surviving a stepladder tournament that consisted of best-of-3 baker matches. Boardman, the No. 5 seed, defeated North Olmsted 2-1, Crestwood 2-0 and Canfield 2-0. Fitch defeated Boardman 2-1 in the final.
In the girls division, Terlecki scored a 668 series to win the individual title. Morgan Alden of Howland was second with a 572, followed by Samantha Dudley of Hubbard (557), Amber Jones of Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin (549) and Becca Babnic of Boardman (541).
Canfield won the team championship. In the tournament, No. 5 seed Notre Dame Cathedral Latin defeated Howland 2-0, then lost to No. 3 seed Canfield 2-0. Canfield went on to defeat Hubbard 2-1 and Boardman 2-1.
