GREENVILLE, PA.
Bethany (8-4, 2-1 PAC) led by as many as 17 in the first half, but Thiel (7-4, 3-0) rallied and used a jumper by Chace McKinney with two seconds to play to win. Blair Rozenblad led the Tomcats with 20 points and 14 rebounds as Thiel took over first place in the conference. British Alexander posted his first double-double of the year with 13 points and 11 rebounds while adding five blocked shots for Bethany.
Geneva 102, Thomas More 73
BEAVER FALLS, PA.
Geneva (9-3) took a 32-point halftime lead en route to the victory and its best start in 10 years. Senior point guard Brandon Sopko only scored three points but he dished out a career high 15 assists. Dave Phillips scored a game-high 23 points.
East Stroudsburg 73, Slippery Rock 58
EAST STROUDSBURG, PA.
Senior guard Jabril Bailey scored a game-high 18 points, grabbed six rebounds and handed out five assists to lead The Rock (7-4), while junior forward Devin Taylor added 14 points and six rebounds.
WOMEN
Thiel 71, Bethany 70
GREENVILLE, PA.
A 3-pointer by Kelly Muffley with six seconds to play capped Thiel’s 9-0 game-ending run. For Thiel (2-9, 1-2), Jasmin Jones had a game-high 24 points. The Bison (6-5, 1-2) were sparked by Kayla Taormina, who scored 18 and grabbed nine rebounds.
East Stroudsburg 72, Slippery Rock 71, OT
EAST STROUDSBURG, PA.
An 18-8 run by The Rock (1-8) over the final six minutes of regulation erased a 10-point Warrior (3-6) lead. Danielle Smith finished with a team-high 22 points to go along with eight rebounds and three assists. Shannon Lee added 17 points, tied her career-high with six rebounds and handed out seven assists. East Stroudsburg was led by Barb Borst with 23 points.
Thomas More 64, Geneva 35
BEAVER FALLS, PA.
The Saints (11-0) took an 11-0 lead in the first four minutes to take control. Geneva (6-5) got eight points from Valerie Hamilton.
