Boardman man charged with drunken driving, other offenses

BOARDMAN — Police charged an 18-year-old township man with drunken driving and other offenses after he fled an accident and dropped off three nude passengers.

Township police pulled over Jason E. Egner around 4 a.m. Saturday after citizens reported a crash on Oakridge Drive and a black Ford Explorer leaving the scene.

Police said they saw the SUV stopped on Mathews Road with its hazard lights on and three nude men running from the passenger-side door. Reports stated the car continued traveling west on Mathews very slowly, as a front tire was flat and the rim was on the road.

Officers suspected Egner was under the influence and gave him a breath test, which recorded a reading of .153. The legal limit is .08.

When the police went to Oakridge, they found a front license plate that matched the car Egner was driving.

Egner also is charged with two counts of obstructing official business and an underage person offense. He will appear Tuesday on the charges in Mahoning County Area Court here.
