Guthridge, Beatty celebrate with 300s


Mark Guthridge had 300-824 in Belchyk/Action Plumbing Classic at Holiday, where George Beatty Jr. had his first 300 game in L & M Mixed Doubles. Beatty, who has been bowling for 24 years, followed up his opening-game 300 with 192 and 221 for a 713 set.

A pair of perfect games were registered in Bob’s Bail Bonding at Wedgewood on Dec. 13 when Scot Huebner had 300-760 and Teri Haefke produced 300-735.

Rich Kady had 226-215-300—741 in Charlie’s Service/Bedford Trails at Holiday on Dec. 21 and Doug Ennett had 300 in Thursday Nite Doubles at West Side.

Chargers and Mustangs were first-half champion and runnerup, respectively, of the Try Hards at Wedgewood.

The Chargers of Virginia Buzzelli, Gail McCombs, Dot Wilson and Rosie Cervone posted a 44-20 record, while the Mustangs of Jo Ross, Dee Moorhead, Jane Beilby and Hazel Price finished 40.5-23.5.

The Omega Door team of Jim Vitullo Sr., Joe Vitullo, Greg Vitullo, Frank Shuler, Dennis Pike and Glenn Cadman won Carrabba’s second quarter at Camelot and will meet first-quarter champs Dietrich Industries in the roll-offs. Dietrich bowlers are Troy Wilson, George Davis III, Dennis Wilson, Ryan Bierdeman and Zac Bierdeman.

The Youngstown Senior tournament already held its team and mixed doubles events, but now comes the 2011 portion of the schedule, starting with the Senior Singles on Jan. 8-9 at Amron and Boardman.
