Police: Man robbed bank, fled in cab
LONDON, Ohio
Authorities say a man robbed a bank in central Ohio, hopped into a taxi and paid for the ride even after the cabbie cut the trip short. Police and the FBI are looking for the suspect who robbed a London bank on Thursday.
Investigators say he handed a note to the teller that read he had a gun and wanted money. After getting the cash, the man got into a taxi to head toward Columbus — about 30 miles away.
Authorities say they contacted the cab company, which tracked down the driver on a cell phone. The cabbie pulled over in a store parking lot and asked the man to get out. Police say the man obliged and paid the fare.
