Neighbors | Shaiyla Hakeem .Students at Dobbins Elementary were surprised to see that the Youngstown Connection could sing and dance at the same time without getting tired. The group performed more than 15 songs.
The Youngstown Connection performed for students of Dobbins Elementary Dec. 20 for an afternoon holiday assembly. They are comprised of 12 high school students from Youngstown who have a knack for performing arts. The group sang and danced to more than 15 songs performing lifts, jumps and utilizing props.
This was fourth-grader Morgan Sackella’s first time seeing the group perform. She was impressed by their performance and their ability to project their voices.
“There was only like 12 people and it was so loud and so good,” Sackella said.
She wasn’t the only one impressed with their performance. The elementary gave the dance group a standing ovation as they exited the auditorium following their performance.
Dobbins principal Cheryl Borovitcky said the group has visited the school in the past and she plans to have them visit more in the future.
“It was truly an inspiring assembly and I am very proud to have them visit Dobbins,” Borovitcky said.
