Boardman Park made sure Santa Claus had plenty of cookies to eat this Christmas.
The park hosted its annual “Cookies for Santa” Dec. 20 where kids participated in more than five holiday crafts and activities. The activities included making gingerbread ornaments, Christmas cards and decorating holiday cookies with frosting and sprinkles. Members of Canfield High School’s Young Leaders volunteered to help facilitate the event.
For the kids who wanted to bake their own cookies, they had to roll the dough and cut the shapes themselves. The cookies were then baked and given back to them to frost and take home to leave out for Santa.
Those who may have been a little hungry were able to feast on sausage links and green waffles. Hot cocoa, milk and juice were available.
