Hubbard teams sweep AAC Red bowling honors

The All-American Conference bowling champions and all-star teams were announced recently with Hubbard’s boys and girls teams sweeping the Red division, and Champion’s boys and Girard’s girls winning the White division crowns for 2010-11.

The champions were based on a one-day conference tournament at Bell-Wick on Feb. 21.

Hubbard’s teams beat out Struthers, followed by a pattern of finishes by both boys and girls teams in descending order of Canfield, Lakeview, Niles and Howland.

The top Red individual finishes were by Struthers’ Tyler Serich (257-669) and Hubbard’s Von Force (222-613), while the best White division scores were rolled by Liberty’s Ricky Evans (259-656) and Tiffany Warne (LaBrae) 200-557.

Hubbard’s boys are coached by Ron Killian, while the Hubbard girls are coached by Carol Kozbial. Barb Hileman coaches the Champion boys while Mike Mikulich and Bob Parillo coach the Girard girls.

Highlights

Adam Barta had 298-810 and Ron Jones registered 300-786 as the top two series in Belchyk/Action Plumbing Classic, while Dave Madick had 300-789 on Feb. 15 in Charlie’s Service/Bedford Trails, also at Holiday.

Mike Dohar’s 300-773 led Boardman Businessmen.

As the third game in his series, Robert Kincaid had 300 in Monday Classic at West Side on Feb. 21. Kincaid also had a third-game perfect score on Nov. 8.

Teri Haefke’s 269-764 paced C-G Pro Shop/Ladies Trio at Wedgewood on Feb. 15.

Condolences to the family of Bell-Wick Bowl proprietor Francis Zitnik, whose wife, Theresa, passed away on Feb. 15.
