The Shenango Valley Chamber of Commerce is hosting a business conference Tuesday.
The event, Private Sector Leadership in Economic & Energy Strategies,” will begin at 4 p.m. at the Avalon Golf and Country Club.
Dennis Yablonsky, CEO of the Allegheny Conference on Community Development, will deliver the title address.

Nonprofit training
The HandsOn Volunteer Network of the Valley Center for Nonprofit Innovation and Leadership will have two training sessions in March for community and faith-based organizations.
Board Training and Leadership Institute is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 8 at the Eastwood Mall in Niles. Community Organizing Fundamentals will be 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 11 at the Salem Public Library in Salem.

Fuel Cell Symposium
Canton
Ruth Cox, executive director of the Fuel Cell and Hydrogen Energy Association, will be the featured speaker at the Ohio Fuel Cell Symposium on April 18 and 19 in Canton.
The symposium will be 5 to 8 p.m. April 18 and from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 19. It will feature speakers from Rolls Royce, UTC, Fuel Cell Energy, the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, Honda, Lockheed Martin, Battelle and ETI.

Chamber plans event
Youngstown
At Good Morning, Youngstown!, Mayor Jay Williams will reflect on the status of Youngstown in 2010 and will introduce the new Youngstown City Schools superintendent, Connie Hathorn.
The event, scheduled from 7:30 to 9 a.m. March 11 in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Hall, is sponsored by the Youngstown Warren Regional Chamber.

Home Savings helps
To benefit area humane societies, 15 Home Savings offices will conduct bake sales Friday.
Participating locations are in Austintown, Salem, Beaver, Boardman, Canfield, East Palestine, Niles, Youngstown, McDonald, Lisbon, Poland and Struthers. Hours vary depending on location.
Some offices will collect food and toys for animals.
