Youngstown Opera Guild is singing for support

On March 5, the Youngstown Opera Guild will have its annual Giorgio Tozzi Scholarship Luncheon.

The event is a fundraiser to help support the yearly scholarship for a vocal education or vocal performance student at the Dana School of Music at Youngstown State University. Past and current winners will be performing, along with Dr. Misook Yun, associate professor at YSU.

The guild, whose mission is to bring opera to the community and support vocal students at YSU, is accepting new members. Upcoming events include the annual meeting with vocal performance on May 2 and a free popcorn, beverage and a polo shirt giveaway for members during the live Met simulcast of Lucia di Lammermoor at Tinseltown on March 19.
