Poland Relay team hosts fundraisers

Relay For Life of Poland teams are offering two tasty fundraisers for the American Cancer Society.

Relay For Life of Poland is inviting the community to “Eat for a Cure” with a fundraiser from noon to 10 p.m. March 2 at TGI Friday’s, 7165 Tiffany Blvd. in Boardman.

Anyone who brings in a voucher will have 20 percent off their bill donated to the American Cancer Society. The voucher is available online at www.RelayforLife.org/Poland

Also, a spaghetti dinner will be March 27 from noon to 5 p.m. at the Poland Masonic Lodge, 7685 Youngstown-Pittsburgh Road in Poland.

The cost is $8 for adults, $5 for seniors and free for children 5 and under. All proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society.

These are just two of the many fundraisers leading up to Relay For Life of Poland, which is scheduled for July 8-9 at Poland Seminary High School.

Relay for Life mobilizes the community to celebrate those who have battled cancer, to remember loved ones lost and to fight back against cancer.

The American Cancer Society Relay for Life is still seeking volunteers in Poland.

The next meeting for Relay For Life volunteers is March 10 at 7 p.m. at New Life Assembly of God, 2250 E. Western Reserve Road, near the Five Points intersection in Poland.

For information, visit www.RelayforLife.org/Poland.

Volunteers will organize and recruit fundraising teams, build community support, seek refreshments and prizes and lend a hand to make the 2011 Relay a success.

Volunteers can be walkers, cancer survivors, caregivers, community leaders — anyone who wants to make a difference.
