Round and round we go
Round and round we go
Two stories piqued my ire last Thursday.
Roundabouts have been in use around the world for over 100 years. It’s time for us to catch up. I live in Girard and work in Boardman. If I take the shortest route (Liberty Street, 422, Market Street) I’m forced to negotiate 40 traffic lights. The first time I counted them I couldn’t believe it, so to be sure I counted again. 40!
There are 100,000 fewer people than there were 30 years ago, but probably more red lights. Whoever is in charge of this is either stupid or lazy.
Secondly, someone should be in jail for repaving 680. Either this contractor or the inspector should be held responsible for the shoddy work performed. This is unacceptable.
Have a nice day.

Who pays the tax in the end?
I find it rather curious that those who preach the doctrine of taxing the fat cat corporations can’t see where that logically flows. History is a great teacher in this debate.
If the price of chicken feed goes up the price I must pay for eggs goes up.
If the price of fertilizer goes up my cost for vegetables goes up.
If the price of corn, grain and hay goes up we all must pay more for our meat.
Does anyone believe that the farmer is the only one who passes on his cost to the consumer? If the cost of providing a product or service increases for any business or corporation the cost for this product or service will be paid by the person who purchases it.
This means to raise taxes on these so called “fat cats” will raise the cost of living for the average citizen. When this happens the generous benefits for anyone who has his snout in the golden trough that is refilled by tax dollars will still be paid by those the tax raising supporters claim to be trying to help.
Of course the government could take over all those corporations and provide the services and products. We all know how well that works.
