$1 million bond set for shooting suspect

YOUNGSTOWN

A municipal judge has set bond at $1 million for the sixth suspect in the Feb. 6 shootings at a house party on Indiana Avenue just north of Youngstown State University.

Judge Elizabeth Kobly set the bond for Mark Jones, 20, of Cambridge Avenue, at his initial video court appearance this morning.

Jones, who was arrested and jailed Monday, is charged with aggravated murder by way of complicity in the death of Jamail Johnson, a 25-year-old YSU student, who was killed in the 3:30 a.m. gunfire. Eleven others were wounded in the gunfire.

Jones is a brother of Columbus Jones Jr., 22, of the same Cambridge Avenue address, who was initially charged with aggravated murder in the same incident in municipal court, but who was indicted by the Mahoning County grand jury on a lesser charge of murder.
