AUCTIONS

Heartland Christian School, 28 Pittsburgh St., Columbiana, is planning its annual auction for March 19 at the school. The public is asked to support the auction with a gift of merchandise or service. The gift is tax-deductible, and the name of the business making the donation will appear in the event program Those interested in participating are asked to e-mail lbrandenstein@heartland.k12.oh.us. Donations can also be mailed to the school. Proceeds from the auction will go toward school renovations. St. John the Baptist Church, 159 Reed Ave., Campbell, will have its annual basket auction on March 6. Doors open at 1 p.m., and the auction begins at 3. Donation is $5. A light lunch will be available.

BOOK SALES

Salem Public Library is having its semiannual book sale, sponsored by the Salem Public Library Memorial Fund Association, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 5 in St. Paul School gymnasium, 925 E. Angels for Animals, 6385 state Route 165, Canfield, will host a Texas Hold’em Poker Tournament on March 13. Palermo Banquet Center, 394 Tenney Ave., Campbell, will be the setting on Saturday for a No Limit Texas Hold’em Tournament to benefit St. Lucy Church. A buy-in of $75 entitles players to $4,000 in chips. Those who preregister by Friday receive $500 additional chips. Cash games will be available beginning at noon. There is a $10 sit-down fee for nontournament players. Free food, bottled water and pop will be available. NIGHTS AT THE RACES

Our Lady of Hungary Church, 545 N. Belle Vista Ave., Youngstown, will have its sixth annual night at the races at the church hall on March 12. Doors open at 5 p.m., and the first race will be at 6. The donation is $5. There will be card games, a 50-50 raffle and free food. Patrons must be over 18 or older.

RAFFLES

Angels for Animals will have a dinner and reverse raffle from 6 to 10 p.m. March 12 at the Angels hall, 6385 state Route 165, Canfield. Tickets are $75 and include a dinner and a number. Numbers are drawn from a drum of ping-pong balls. The first number wins cash. Every 10th number drawn wins a $100 brick on Angel Way. The 25th, 50th and 100th numbers drawn win cash. Owners of the last three remaining numbers can split the $2,000 grand prize or continue drawing numbers to the end. Dinners can be purchased for your guest for $25. Boardman High School Band and Orchestra will sponsor its third annual reverse raffle and dinner from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. March 18 at The Georgetown, 5945 South Ave., Boardman. Tickets are $100 per couple and include dinner for two, an open bar, a disc jockey and a reverse raffle ticket. There also will be a small reverse raffle side board, a basket raffle and a 50-50 raffle. Tickets may be purchased from any band or orchestra parent. Knights Of Columbus, Girard Council 2935, is having its annual St. Patrick’s Day raffle fundraiser. Tickets are two for $5 and are available now from any council member. The drawing is based on the straight three digit Pennsylvania Evening Drawing. Prizes are $200 each day for March 13, 14, 15 and 16, and a grand prize of $500 on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17.

SALES

La Fleur Garden Club is hosting a large garage sale for nonprofit groups to enter from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 7 at the Ursuline Center, 4280 Shields Road, Canfield. Ten groups will be set up, and there will be food available. Admission and parking are free. Table rental is $25.

SHOWS

New Waterford United Methodist Church, 46925 S. State St., will present its fifth annual winter dinner theater, “Delightful, Delicious, Dysfunctional Funnies,” on Saturday.
