Hubbard to induct 11 into athletics HOF

The 1971 boys golf team and 11 individuals highlight the Class of 2011 into the Hubbard High School sports hall of fame.

The golf team, consisting of Jack Dean, John Doughton, Dan O’Bruba, Bob Pieton and Al Tribby Jr., won the 1971 Class AAA state championship and is the only golf team in school history to win a state title.

Others being inducted are Clayton West (coach), Rodney Wells (football), Kacie Coonce (basketball), Patrick Clemente (golf), Alison Fischer (volleyball), Frank Harris (football), Nakia Hendrix (football), Don Newell Jr. (wrestling), James Phillips (football), Diane Tatarka (basketball) and Mary Ann Coller Wilson (golf).

This year’s banquet is April 30, 2011 at St. Patrick’s Church Hall. Tickets are available by calling Joe Carano at 330-534-7700. No tickets will be sold at the door.
