Angela Blanco and Zachary Smith, both of Columbus, are planning a June wedding.

Parents of the bride-to-be, Phil and Sue Blanco of Poland, are announcing the couple’s engagement and plans for a 2 p.m. open wedding June 24 in St. James Meeting House, Boardman Park, Boardman.

The prospective groom is a son of K. Brian and Cindy Smith of Pickerington, Ohio.

Invitations will be extended for a reception to follow at The Georgetown, also in Boardman.

Miss Blanco is a first-grade teacher at the Ohio School for the Deaf in Columbus. She is a graduate of Ohio State University with a master’s degree in reading.

Her fiancé , also an OSU graduate, earned a degree in transportation and logistics. He is a fireman for the Columbus Division of Fire. He also served in the military as a U.S. Air Force pilot.
