Mr., Mrs. Jacobs celebrate 60th anniversary with family in W.Va.

Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Jacobs of Boardman celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with their family during a weekend trip to Oglebay Park in Wheeling, W.Va.

Mr. Jacobs, who is known as “Skup,” and the former Anne Theresa Mullen were married Feb. 3, 1951, at St. Ann Catholic Church in Youngstown. They are members of St. Charles Church.

The couple are the parents of five children, Anne Varga; Michael Jacobs and Betsy (John) DeNiro, all of Columbus; Joe (Tammy) Jacobs of Boardman; and Mary Pat (Rick) Stine of Coral Springs, Fla.

Their family includes 13 grandchildren, Sam, Pete, Michael and Max Jacobs; Kate, Colleen and Maggie Varga; Liz, Catherine and Rachel Stine; and Danny, Tess and Kelly DeNiro.

Joining the couple for the celebration were all their children and all their grandchildren, except Michael Jacobs, who is stationed with the U.S. Marine Corps in North Carolina.
