District plans sale of birdseed and fish

Mahoning Soil and Water Conservation District, 850 Industrial Road, is having its “Our Feathered Friends” birdseed sale.

Bags can be picked up daily, or you can call the district to place an order.

A 25-pound bag of mixed seed costs $9.50; 25 pounds of black oil sunflower seed costs $13; and a 10-pound bag of thistle seed can be purchased for $9.

The district office is open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The phone number is 330-740-7995.

Also back by demand is the district’s fingerling fish sale.

Channel catfish are 75 cents each; bluegill, 70 cents each; largemouth bass, 80 cents each; yellow perch, 70 cents each; hybrid bluegill, 90 cents each; Redear Shellcrackers, 90 cents each; flathead minnows, $6 per 100; and white Amur, $12.50 each. The ordering deadline is April 22.

The fish orders can be picked up from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. April 26 at the Canfield Fairgrounds, Coliseum 8.
