Muffin magic appears on Mahoning
The staff of Maggie's Magic Muffins were proud, even in the snowy Feb. 1 weather, to perform the official ribbon cutting that welcomed their business to the Austintown community. All lending a helping hand for the ribbon cutting were Kassy Vogel (left), Felicia Fabis, business manager Marge Collins, owner Kristen Sailor, and Bill Collins.

Maggie’s Magic Muffin House has been a sweet new addition to Mahoning Avenue in recent months, but the store’s official coming out party didn’t come until Feb. 1.
That’s when the Regional Chamber of Commerce visited owner Kristin Sailor and business manager Marge Collins for an official ribbon-cutting.
Collins insists, though, that the folks of Austintown welcomed the new shop long before the ceremonial opening. “Austintown is a great community. Everyone is so warm and welcoming,” she shared. “The first day we placed the ‘now open’ sign in our window, without any advertising, we had friendly people coming in, introducing themselves, and sampling our muffins.”
The shop has another store in Boardman that opened in 1999, and Sailor sees promise in her store’s first Austintown franchise.
“I would love if, one day, there are Maggie’s stores across the country that we can trace back to our first stores here in the Valley.”
The store makes 70 varieties of muffins and offers gourmet coffee, breakfast and lunch sandwiches.
