Students were on the hunt for the perfect books at a good price at Dobbins and North elementary schools in February.

The Scholastic book fair at Dobbins visited the school Feb. 2-3 and offered students a wide selection of books on kid favorites like iCarly, Star Wars and Hannah Montana. Along with books, the sale offered pens and pencils, notebooks and posters.

Dobbins student Hope Signs was quick to snatch a Justin Bieber poster before the hot commodity sold out.

The money from the book sale was reinvested into the school.

“We have books in our school library that are worn out and falling apart. With the funds from the sale, we’re going to help replace as many books as possible,” said PTA president Kristen Sackella.

North Elementary changed their book selection by offering books from Usburn Publishing in their Feb. 9-10 book fair. The nonfiction publisher offered informational and activity books for the students at North.

Usburn representative Melinda Miller helped students browse through the selection.

“We like to keep our books informational, but still fun. We want it to be so fun that they sometimes forget they’re actually learning a lot,” she said.

Big sellers at North included works on princesses, horses, animals and American history. The money raised at North will also help bring new variety into the school library.
