Canfield bands provide pasta and performance

Eight bands from Canfield schools will perform at the 41st annual Canfield Band Parents Pasta Dinner and Chinese Auction Feb. 26 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the Canfield High School cafeteria.

The meal is a complete pasta dinner that includes pasta, meatballs or sausage, salad, bread and butter, drink and dessert.

Regular dinner portions will cost $7 and small portions will be $5.

The annual event is a fundraiser for the Canfield Bands.

“This is our largest fundraiser of the year and is now in its 41st year,” said Cathy Wirtz, co-chairman of the event committee. “It is also one of the most enjoyable concerts of the year, as the bands are playing throughout most of the day.”

The Chinese auction will feature jewelry, sports memorabilia, designer clothing and purses, gift cards, toys, family fun items and more. Specific items secured so far include a Vera Bradley purse and wristlet, Free People brand clothes, Urban Outfitters basket, Lucky brand clothes and jewelry, IPod nano, Hines Ward photo, 18x12 Ohio State print and four Scrappers tickets.

The auction will close at 4:45 p.m. and winners will be announced around 5:15 p.m. Winner need not be present.
