Sefcik propels Fitch to victory over East

AUSTINTOWN
Megan Sefcik scored 19 points with five rebounds and four assists and the Fitch High girls basketball team clamped down on defense in the fourth quarter to rally for a 45-42 victory over visiting East in a non-conference game on Wednesday.
Mariah Snowden scored 10 points with four rebounds and two steals for the Falcons (11-9), who outscored the Panthers 12-5 in the fourth.
Lesa Oliver scored 21 points with nine rebounds and three steals for East (6-13), while Chelsea Bennett had 13 points, five rebounds and five assists.
Mineral Ridge 52, McDonald 38
MINERAL RIDGE
Megan Ben scored 14 points and the Rams (12-8) ran out to an 8-0 lead after one quarter to take control en route to the victory.
Abby Riffee and Brittney Bevilacqua each added 10 points.
For McDonald (9-11), Taylor Stanley scored 16 points.
Lowellville 66, Columbiana 35
COLUMBIANA
Ashley Moore and Taylor Hvisdak combined to out-score the Clippers, 37-35, as the Rockets completed an undefeated season (20-0).
Moore had 19 points, Hvisdak 18 and Emily Carlson had 10 more as the Rockets opened a 24-10 lead after eight minutes and made it 40-18 by the half.
Khylea Fullum hit for 22 points for the Clippers (7-13).
West Branch 43, Salem 26
SALEM
Rebekah Zets and Kelsey Loiselle each scored 10 points and Andrea Wingett grabbed 10 rebounds and the Warriors (15-5) outscored the Quakers in every quarter.
Cassie Davidson had five points and nine rebounds for Salem (4-15).
