Trumbull bird count starts Friday

CORTLAND

Trumbull Soil and Water Conservation District will participate in the Great Backyard Bird Count, which runs Friday through Monday. The local count will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday at the SWCD offices, 520 W. Main Street.

The count is a project of the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, Audubon and Bird Studies Canada.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for anyone fascinated with birds to help capture a snapshot of birdlife in Trumbull County,” said Amy Reeher, district watershed coordinator. Participants should contact Reeher at 330-637-2056, ext. 111.

Participants should dress for the weather and bring binoculars and guide books if they have them.
